Welcome to Nebraska Agriculture Academy LLC! My name is Breann Zimmer, and I’m NAA’s head teacher. I began teaching agriculture and advising FFA in 2019. After four year of teaching in the public school setting, I decided to move to the private sector by opening Nebraska Agriculture Academy LLC - Nebraska’s first agriculture program and FFA chapter to serve homeschool students. As our homeschool program is in the beginning stages, I realize there is an even bigger need in the realm of education - supporting public schools as our state encounters a chronic agriculture teacher shortage. In the 2023-2024 school year, there were 48 openings for agriculture educators. 46% of those schools did not find a certified agriculture teacher to fill their positions. By working with NAA, schools can rest assured they’re working with Nebraska Certified Agriculture Teachers to keep agriculture programs in existence while administrators find the right hire to be in the classroom.
